Officers from the Wilton Police Department responded to Stop & Shop on River Road on Thursday, Feb. 20, where there was a complaint of an alleged shoplifter.
According to police, Norwalk resident Laurie Lafaro, 40, shopped at the store and attempted to leave without paying for $141.22 worth of groceries before she was stopped by staff members at the grocery store.
Lafaro was taken into custody by responding officers and charged with sixth-degree larceny.
Following her processing, Lazaro was released and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Tuesday, March 3.
